Privacy Policy
Short version: the only personal data this site collects is what you choose to send us yourself, on the waitlist or through the contact form. No accounts, no advertising, no analytics scripts, no tracking cookies.
1. Waitlist e-mails
If you join the waitlist, we store:
- What: your e-mail address, the date and time you signed up, and which page the form was on. Nothing else. We do not store your IP address or device details with your signup.
- Why: to send you updates about SeamanEnglish, such as when the full version launches. We do not send third-party marketing and we do not share or sell the list to anyone.
- Legal basis: your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR), given by ticking the box next to the form.
- Where: the list is stored with Cloudflare (Workers KV), which acts as our processor. Data may be processed outside the EEA under Cloudflare's standard contractual clauses. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
- How long: until you withdraw consent, or until the waitlist has served its purpose and is closed. Then the address is deleted.
- Opting out: you can withdraw consent at any time. Use the unsubscribe option in any e-mail we send, or contact us (section 4) and we will delete your address.
2. Contact form
If you write to us through the contact form, we store your name (if you give it), your e-mail address and your message, so that we can read it and reply. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering the messages we receive (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). The data is stored with Cloudflare as our processor, is not shared with anyone else, and is deleted when your matter is handled. If you want a message deleted sooner, just tell us.
3. What else we process
- Your test answers are processed entirely in your browser. They are not sent to any server and disappear when you close the page. We cannot see your score.
- Technical delivery data. The site is served by Cloudflare, which processes standard technical information (such as IP addresses) in server logs to deliver the site securely and prevent abuse.
- Cookies: we do not set any cookies for tracking, advertising or analytics.
4. When this will change
As the site grows we plan features that involve more personal data: user accounts with progress tracking and paid subscriptions. Before any of those launch, this policy will be updated with full details, and where the law requires it we will ask for your consent first.
5. Your rights and contact
Under the GDPR you have rights over your personal data: access, correction, deletion, withdrawal of consent and others. For anything related to privacy, use the contact form or write via LinkedIn.
